Cleaned off years of brake dust staining!!!

Cleaned off years of brake dust staining!!!
The Eagle One Etching Mag Cleaner is truly impressive. I don't normally bother to write reviews, but this worked so well it has motivated me to write one. I purchased this to use on my BMW's winter wheels. I purchased these wheel 3 years ago second hand. The wheels were already heavily stained with deeply embedded brake dust. I didn't care too much as they were my winter wheels and would see more abuse and only occasional cleaning. The wheels have see 3 more winters, and the brake dust build up kept getting worse. Despite using other wheel cleaners a couple of times, and a handful of hand washings every spring. Even for winter wheels they were getting worse then I cared to look at. I had read about using diluted muriatic acid and was planning to give that a shot, but stumbled across this product. I recieved the cleaner this morning, and decided to give it a quick shoot. I ignored the instructions and sprayed it on two wheels and let it sit for about 60 seconds(not recommend by Eagle). Then sprayed the wheels off with water without touching the wheels, not really expecting it to make much of a difference. I was floored with the results, almost all of the brake dust and staining that I have not been able to clean off for the past years was at least 95% gone. Only a few really beded in dark specs remained. I did the other two wheels the same way, with the same great results. I also noticed this did a great job of cleaning up the brake calipers too. I am confident that with a couple more cleanings, and wiping them with a soft rag that these wheels will look basically new again. I wish I would have taken a before and after pic of these wheelsI was so impressed that the yellow stained wheels on my beater/offroad toy Ford Explorer caught my eye. This Explorer has over 200k miles on it, and has just been a beater vehicle for me for the past 6 years. So, it only gets washed once or twice a year after it gets covered in mud. I sprayed down two of the wheels and let the cleaner set for about 60 second again, and sprayed it down with water. Again not actually scrubbing, wiping, or even touching the wheels. I added a pic of the worst wheel before and after results. The wheels still have a slight yellow tint, but way cleaner then I have seen them in the past 6 years. Again I expect repeated cleanings and some wiping will continue to improve the results. There are two things I don't like about this product. 1. After spraying it one 8 wheels the bottle is pretty much empty. 2. I just found that it cost about 1/3 the price at my local autoparts store.....the price of Amazon convenience. I would still buy it again at $14 if that was the only option.I'm off to the autoparts store to get a couple of more bottles so I can see how well it works on my "new" 2007 Yukon Denali with 200k miles of neglect from the previous owner. I'll upload more pics of those wheels too.UPDATE: Just did the 20" chrome wheels on my 2007 Yukon Denali. They were in aweful shape, and yes i just hand washed them 7 days ago. That brake dust is baked in there. Again only sprayed on and off with water. The results are frazy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast acting, stripped the grime right off
Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2018
Ive tried just about every other cleaner on the market to get years of burnt on brake dust off a set of aluminum torque thrust II wheels I found at the junk yard. Most of them got the light stuff on but the rims still looked dirty. Despite the directions saying not to use it on uncoated wheels I gave it a shot (what did I have to loose?). Sprayed on, let it sit for 30 seconds and gave them a quick scrub. Hosed the wheels off and was amazed how good they looked! There's still some brake dust in the crevices that the brush didn't reach, but another go with a tooth brush and they'll look great. This stuff even removed the filth off parts of the inside of the wheel I didn't scrub.
A word of caution, this stuff is acid based and as a result the fumes are nothing short of horrendous. I was outside with a breeze and still felt a mask would have been a good idea, and I will wear one when I do a detail cleaning of these wheels. It goes without saying gloves are a must. If you are working on bare wheels like I did don't let it sit long as the acid will start to corrode the surface (which is why it works so well!)

5.0 out of 5 stars It works great!

This stuff works exactly the way it should, if not better than what it claims. But, I feel like there isn’t very much in the bottle. I could probably spray all 4 wheels one other time and then I will be all out. Also you have to spray your wheels down very thoroughly with water, if you don’t there will be a streak where some of the product dripped. Otherwise this stuff is amazing.
Pictures are before and after. Last one is after a not so thorough polish.
